Session Feedback
Parents can request written session feedback from their tutors. It includes what we covered, what needs to be done at home, student engagement levels, and more. Session feedback is a great way for families to have a simplified list of what work the student actually has due.
Feedback is written and sent in the last 5 minutes of a session. Parents are also welcome to use session time for direct communication with tutors.
initial Assessments
Your tutor will use the first session to assess the student’s needs. Parents can always access tutors during session time to communicate plans and goals.
Some students benefit from an in-depth assessment with our director, Lauren. These assessments are reserved for families who are actively involved in their child’s homework, students with IEPs, and students who struggle with executive functioning.

Our location
We are located at 620 St. Jean in Pointe Claire. We are at the intersection of St. Jean’s and Hymus, and share a building with Scotia Bank. Please use the left door of the building (not the Scotia Bank entrance).
What to bring
We expect that students bring their books, worksheets, and can access their Google Classroom or online portals (they can use their own device, or our computers).

Meet Our Tutors
Lauren Fagen
Lauren has been tutoring for over a decade. She started managing a team in 2015 to help meet the demand. Today, Genesis tutors continue to support student from Montreal and abroad by helping them improve their grades, confidence and relationship to education.
Lauren Fagen graduated with an Honours BA in Philosophy with a specialization in Logic and mathematics (Concordia University). She also received an honours DEC in Liberal Arts (John Abbott College).
Melanie A.Z.
Mel graduated from Concordia University in Behavioural Neuroscience. She also holds a diploma in Clinical Nutrition. Mel’s favourite activities are hiking, camping and canoeing. She also plays the piano, banjo and guitar.
Viveth K
Viveth has been tutoring math for over a decade. He graduated from McGill with a Bachelor of Sciences in Mathematics. He is also a professional comedian!
Siera S
Siera is currently undergoing her paramedic certification. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioural Neuroscience (Concordia University). She also has a DEC in Science from John Abbott College.
Mason F
Mason is a certified ESL teacher (English as a Second Language). He also received a DEC from John Abbott College in language arts and theatre. Mason has worked for the Cree school board in Quebec, where he taught science, math, English and media for grades 9, 10 and 11.

Melanie is currently undergoing medical school at McGill University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioural Neuroscience (Concordia University). She also has a DEC in Science from John Abbott College.

Sabrina earned specialization in set creation and design from John Abbott College. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Concordia University.

Jaye is undergoing her Masters in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia and a DEC in Health Sciences from John Abbott College.

If a student requires a more holistic approach, you may opt book an assessment to communicate goals and improve the quality of your lessons.
We require 36 hours of notice for changes to your session.

We send out invoices every Monday for the week the week that has passed.
Yes, we have bilingual tutors who can tutor courses that are in English or French. We also tutor English and French as subjects (elementary to university).
